Who We Are

Tecis Ltd was established in 1999 to provide economic advice for policy in the social sector and has expanded its services to advice for commercial and social enterprises.  Our roots lie in academic research, using economic and statistical analysis to provide new perspectives.  This theoretical base has been enriched by our experience in advising on a range of practical issues.

You may not think that economics or statistics can help you but we believe that our creative approach to decision-making can provide real benefits to your organisation.  We have addressed a wide range of issues including:

  • estimating the costs and benefits of a variety of educational initiatives;
  • identifying employers’ needs in terms of the education, training and attitudes of their workers;
  • reviewing the options available for organisational development;
  • developing and supervising a strategy for market analysis for new companies;
  • reviewing and comparing proposals to reduce inequality;
  • identifying ways to collect accurate information on violence against children.

We like to work closely with our clients to make sure that we produce outputs that meet their needs and expectations.  We have considerable experience of building good working relationships in a variety of situations.

Case Study

“Malaria kills one million African children every year; that’s one child every 30 seconds.  In 2006, about a quarter of all these deaths occurred in Nigeria, with a total cost to the economy of £530 million per year.  The Department for International Development (DfID) decided to support the Nigerian government in its fight against malaria by contributing £50 million over five years to provide drugs, equipment and advice.  We were asked to review this programme to make sure that British taxpayers’ money was being well-spent and producing the best possible results for Nigeria.”
